Wondering how jumpseat works in cargo carriers? How come most of them need to be in CASS in order to get jumpseat? I heard someplace saying because the 747 freighter doesn't have a cockpit door, so that's why the carrier needs to be CASS? is that right?
I noticed Kalitta doesn't have any jumpseat info.. How hard to get a carrier to get recip. js agreement with most legacies?? I'd love to fly freight, but without the JS privilege, it's tough to go see the folks once in a while...

Most guys want: a stable company; either freight or passenger; with good work rules; reasonable pay; the ability to upgrade in a timely manner; good medical and retirement benefits, etc. All you want is being able to jumpseat "in cargo carriers", so that you can "go see the folks once in a while." Amazing.I'd recommend you find an company that suits your one need. And oh, by the way, most cargo carriers have reciprocal jumpseat agreements with most everyone else. As well, for the record, FedEx and UPS (specifically) probably go everywhere you'd ever want to go.
Good luck in finding your new job.

I should've explained better: I got nothing to complain about having an aviation career, but the intent of my post is to find out the real legwork in creating a JS recip agreement with others. How hard for the smaller outfit to get reciprocated with the big boyz? Anybody involved in their carrier's JS committee? What are the basic requirements?
Polar guys, you're always the best. I've had the pleasure of JSing, BSing with you guys for hours on end, and always a class act. Thanks!!
