So I'm at the gym and on Fox News they are running the study on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Their spin on it is "4% of commercial pilots are suicidal". We are our own worse enemies & will never learn. I didn't even think about taking the test but I can only imagine. Probably same 4% that run in to the office when management calls and says it's no big deal but swing by the office for a talk.

How do they determine if the respondents are actual pilots in an anonymous web-based survey?

Does anyone find it a sad irony that the large issue they report in the study (unreported depression) was encouraged by the secretive dishonest survey they just performed?

Yet the authors of the study believe that "underreporting of mental health symptoms and diagnoses is probable among airline pilots due to the public stigma of mental illness and fear among pilots of being "grounded" or not fit for duty."

This report is akin to the FAA showing up telling you that they are here to help. Smarten up my friends, the only people that will try to "help you" with medical issues are your fellow pilots (aka ALPA).

"If pilots are so suicidal, we should replace them with drones!"

But a conspiracy like that would be CRAZY!!!
