Do you think that they care that you got a new medical or logged a few more hours? I think that this updating thing is a little over rated. If you don't qualify for the job, don't they pretty much tell you right away when you fill the application out?

What about a new phone number and address since the military moved you? Serious question - app is in, on file and relocating at the start of April, how do I update my contact info?

My 07 app just became unlocked yesterday. I can upload a resume and update fight time etc. I haven't recieved the "invitation for assesment" e-mail. So I'd say, can't hurt to check the website every so often.

Friend of mine got the same. Able to update, with a button to schedule an appointment. But when he clicks it says something like currently no appointments available, check later by logging under My Applications

My 07 App also in the last day or so went from "On File" w/o have been sent any further testing to "Active" with the ability to check and print pages and upload a resume, none of which were possible back on 19 Jan when I created the 2007 app version. I didn't get the testing, congrats to those who have. If you managed to get a 2007 UPS application started in January but haven't gotten to an interview yet keep after it.

I think the tech weenies @ UPS got this little front-end application system that can tell who is looking for the UPS pilot job posting online at their upsjobs website and screens out those folks it is not interested in; by not allowing them to see the job and therefore they can't apply. This system allows only those pilots who it likes; to see the job ad and to apply. That way they (UPS) can't be sued for discrimination in their hiring. They can't be accused of discriminating against someone who didn't apply right? Why else would they not allow all qualified pilot to apply?

How can UPS screen people before they apply unless they got some crystal ball? I don't think that theory flies.

I was told by HR that they began this new process by using the same main application that they use for, say, box throwers. PD said that those applicants are able to schedule interviews on line (hence the button to schedule an appt). He assured me that this will not be the case for pilots even though the link is there. If people are able to update now, I don't know if that link is just there for everybody or what.

I don't think so. When that link is up everyone sees it. At that point, anyone who meets the minimums can apply. They close it as soon as they get a predetermined number of applications in. That is why you need to check every day. On the days it has been visible, I have not run into anyone who didn't see it vs. someone who did. I know we are talking about UPS here, but that's a little too consipiracy theorish I think.

Oh I get it. The first 100 people to get in line for American Idol become the contestants for this years show. Everyone else is told to come back next time. That's a sure way to get the best talent. (sarcasm intended) What about those of us that seem to be working (or some other valid reason away from a PC w/internet access) during the 1-hr window when the app is up? It's not like these are job postings are preannounced so we can all be at our computers at 0001 when the doors are opened and hope we are caller 100 or less. Come on UPS, you can do better than this. Open the door for a week or more each time! Using peoples luck and timing to be a part of your hiring filter is not good HR.
