I'm looking to connect with anyone else in the October 7th ABX new hire class to exchange information and possibly coordinate lodging location to make it easier to study together. The Cherrybend Pheasant farm seems to be the best option for most classes but they said they were booked for October.

Get your affairs in order, as you will likely not be seeing the homefront for quite a while! The overall training experience is pretty good, with the most frustrating part being trying to learn the antiquated IT system that will allow you access to lots of info that is not in the classroom texts.
The instructors are very experienced with the plane. And with any questions that need additional research, they always seem to get the info and pass it along. Likewise with the Check Airmen that will be giving you FBS and sim. Good bunch of guys.
As you are probably all aware, there are ongoing issues with life at ABX. First and foremost of course is the shortage of crewmembers, and the fact that you almost have to dig a tunnel to escape for your days off. Hopefully, each new class that comes on line will chip away at this dilemma.
Anyway...Welcome!
