You will get an email about 10 days out. you get $100 towards your plane ticket. Hotel is booked by company and starts the day before. Class is 8am-5pm except the first day you meet your instructor 7:30am and get keys to company van for your class.

Thanks, thats the info i was looking for.

Got the offer two weeks ago few hours after interview, is it followed up with a formal offer letter after background check? Want to have "cleared for training" before I give current employer two week notice?

Yesterday company cancelled all new hire classes from what were hearing and all upgrade classes as well.

Hopefully you were able to avoid leaving your current employer for a sinking ship like ATSG - multiple business units, all with their eggs overwhelmingly in individual baskets... what could possibly go wrong?

Well guess that doesn't bode well for those of us in the pool...hope it is just a blip

I was in the 4/11 class, and I can confirm it just got cancelled. I was put in the hiring pool. According to the HR rep, "the DoD has scaled back on the 767 flying, and they hope to sort things out over the next few weeks".

Looks like I bailed at the right time. The new hire classes were mostly replacing the attrition. Not a good sign for people there the company is shrinking.

Wow that’s nuts…. So sorry to hear that, especially after all the hard work of training. Any specifics on why this is happening? The HR rep mentioned a slowdown in DoD flying, but I find that pretty bizarre what with the Ukraine conflict and tensions in Asia…. There was talk on the other thread of the FAA giving the company a hard time about the training program, does that factor in? In any case, my condolences, and wishing you all good luck.

Very much so doubt it has to do with the training department. Flying has been slow all year so far. I’ve haven’t flown in over a month and even before then I’ve only done 9 flights so far in 2023. I’m betting they thought a ramp up would happen in May and that hasn’t happened. So now they start the process of trying to find subcontract flying. They 100% got too comfortable with the D.O.D. being almost exclusively the only source of income for the airline. Need to diversify their flying.

this is direct result of Omni not selling its charter business as aggressively as they should be. The DOD business is there, always has been always will be. We have to share it with other airlines in our group, Atlas being one of them. E commerce is down so Atlas wants their full share of flying which cuts into what Omni usually counts on. Combined with managements hiring malpractice, when they knew the flying was down they continued to overstaff the airline. Some believe that this was intentional as we are entering contract mediation and they want to make things look as grim as possible here.
its a pilots world right now, avoid Omni.
