Interview

Dont want to seem impatient, but i interviewed begining on december 2022. Almost a month later and havent heard anything. They said id hear something by the end of the week. Does it usually take that long to get a CJO or a TBNT? Reached out recently, but no reply.

I was offered a job on the spot when I interviewed a year ago. The people that didn’t make the cut were also told on the spot. I guess the process has changed? Did you do a drug test on the day you interviewed?

No, it was virtual. Even then, i read on pilot interviews that most got a cjo that same day, or by the end of the week.

Chances are you’re outta luck, but you could always reach out to them?

Ghosted...is an employer obligated to follow up with you if you don't get the job?

Which shows a greater lack of interest: the employer who does not follow up with the employee, or the employee who has come looking for a job, who does not follow up with the employer?

Which has the greater obligation to show interest? One who wishes to show show interest might do well to follow up appropriately, as needed.

Fortunately, EVERY other airline is hiring. Maybe you dodged a bullet? Good luck!

.

I, like many, would disagree. Its professional etiquette. the interviewing individual made the effort to prepare, dedicate the time to share his professional accomplishments to advance himself, and put his best foot forward. If they had any amount of self-respect or pride in themselves as a company, they'd communicate appropriately. I can attest, due to disorganization, that they most likely misplaced his contact info.

An applicant makes an effort to prepare, and arrives, hat in hand, looking for a job. At a job interview, one party is the better and one is the chooser. The one who shows up, hat in hand, looking for a job is not the chooser.

It behooves the beggar to follow up, and certainly, before he posts on a web board opining that he cannot find a job, to get past more than three interviews.

An applicant should follow up - never hurts to ask. What are they gonna say? No .. and that's it, they're not gonna black ball you.

An employer should have the courtesy to treat all of the applicants it has extended an invitation to in a professional manner both before, during, and after the interview. That includes courtesy communication.

Not sure why anyone would say this is a one sided issue, it's not.
