Still 5 or 6 years after it was initially promised.
Safe to assume it’s on merit only, not by seniority?

Seniority, but you have to have 2 years experience as a Swift captain to be eligible

JungleJetDriver 05-12-2021 03:21 PM

Will home basing ever return to lower seniority cpts and fo’s?

Has the pay for the 767 been discussed, approved, announced?
Also, how is Swift planning to use these 767's? Charter, DOD, Cargo, Amazon??? I would guess that the type of flying would determine the type of schedule.

No rates yet.

I’m assuming DHL for CVG and GSO will most likely do any pax ops/VIP. So far still 12 off

Flydafe 05-13-2021 09:34 PM

Thank you ask for speaking freely about the work conditions here. I game been getting emails to upset my resume to possibly get an interview. It seems a bit tough at Iaero. I’m really hoping these are old war stories from years ago but can assume that they are not. Do you all fly immigrants back to their country or something?

Thanks Mexipilot84, sounds like classes may still be a month or two away for the 767 line pilots and new hires, if the initial class of instructors are still in class / sims now. Any idea how many crews per aircraft... 5 or 6 maybe?

The initial class of check airman I want to say are in sims by now.

June second we have a class of captains transitioning to 767 and 3 street hire FOs with 767 experience, I assume they can’t afford to pull FOs off the 737 yet to move.

Not sure what their next class will be composed of, I think they’re just trying to have the initial launch ready.

jetpiloto 06-01-2021 12:31 PM

Waiting to Start

Any updates on 737 classes for those in the hiring pool? Any chance of a June class?

June is full, pretty much since May was pushed back all the May pilots are in June. We will be filling July here shortly

A certain person that has a 3x week podcast is tracking flights and mentioning Swift/iAero. Seems there is an increase of “border flights” in the last week or so. KELP, KSAT to KCVG and many other places around the US. Hoping these are legitimate “JPATS” ops, but it’s been hypothesized as the opposite. Thoughts?

PerfInit 07-03-2021 08:32 PM

Man I sure hope the recent uptick in iAero border flights are for the right reasons!

PerfInit 07-19-2021 08:25 PM

Take a look for yourself, particularly at the 15min mark. Flight Aware - iAero aka “Swift” flights to/from border towns and between points in central america to/from the US. Interesting....

That’s nothing new, we do it, Omni air does it across the pond. Kaiser air does it and world Atlantic uses to as well. Apparently the Air Force is doing it too. The call signs used to be repatriate.

Monkey Werx SitRep 7/23. FF to the 17.5min mark and listen to the end. This ties in to the Tucker piece that broke last week.
If this does not wake people up...

Garryowen1 07-25-2021 07:02 AM

Here’s the real conspiracy. No trip rig, zero duty rig, no deadhead pay, absent 401k match “because of covid”, basing chaos “because of covid”, and now a super low training pay for new hires “because of covid”.

Let’s take off the tin foil hat and let’s stop blaming covid for everything. If we’re not already having problems retaining and recruiting we most definitely will with the amount of hiring going on right now. If the higher ups want the growth they are talking about it’s time to confront the real conspiracy in the room.

Reach out to any pilot for clarification.

No, but he does have "Anointing Olive Oil from the Holy City of Jerusalem".

Yikes!

It’s a pathway program, right now internally we don’t have anything for current pilots yet. The program is for southwest employees, military pilots and cadets(0 to CFI). The are selected by southwest and come work for us, flexjet or xojet for a pre determined time and then after a re-eval allowed to go class at WN.

What I was told is maybe in the future we would have access to southwest programs like their internal events which help you get triggered for interviews if you qualify.

would take more than that I think

Gooch 08-18-2021 04:29 PM

I’d do that all day long having been there as a army rw pilot many times and knowing what we have on the ground there currently. If y’all do it, you’re safe at the airport (relative to your own definition of safe).

the last thing the Taliban want is the optics to shoot down a civilian airliner evacuating refugees while they’re trying to appear legitimate.

Payraiseon1st 08-18-2021 04:31 PM

Comes with 401k matching as well!!!

Gooch 08-18-2021 04:35 PM

Don’t forget your AF PPR or they’ll file a OHR with the Afghan Civil Aviation Authority 🤣🤣

Miamitmster 08-18-2021 04:38 PM

I'd do it for straight pay just to bring home our citizens that the Whitehouse abandoned. Like someone else said, the Taliban knows if they take down an airliner we go back to another war. If they maintain the status quo they will get to keep their victory over us, and get a lot of support from China.

401k matching

Alright everyone the math has been done!!! With the $25 Thanksgiving bonus and 1% 401k match you can retire 4 days earlier.

Same interview as an FO. Only difference is your app will have to be approved by flight ops after a successful interview. Have to make sure all requirements of 121.436 are met and that the experience level meets the position.
