What’s a BM????

Something you do, and can log time as PIC, if you plan it right.

Got a call from Eastern today asking if I was still interested. Thankfully, I recently finished training at another carrier and said no. They were very nice about it and I thanked them for the the call. Good luck to all waiting for the call!

Would you mind sharing your quals?

Now that could be interesting. Central and South America might be underserved opportunities.

Doubt it, especially if ACMI isn't doing much flying down there.

The hard part with some of that flying is getting paid. I don't know if it's still true but my employer, at one time, was not flying some of those trips until a surety bond was posted. I sat fully loaded once in MIA for several hours until the money was securely posted. Only then was I cleared to go southbound. Many companies have been burnt down there in years past.

Good point. I have heard people in other industries have exactly the same problem.

Plus occasionally being held up for "fees" at gunpoint in some countries.

Usually by the police. In Mexico it is called “The Bite”.

in Nicaragua they would park a fuel truck in front of us and the military would come out and ask for fees. We'd all negotiate and leave on good terms. Happened about once a month. Most friendly shake down I had.
