Their 2 aircraft never move....sit on the Latam ramp for weeks. Makes you wonder how bad they need crews.

Wonder how many Swifties are going to apply?

MNPS 50N50W 12-20-2019 02:12 PM

It's certainly worth while looking into. Even if they are as problematic as this company, seem like they are willing to pay alot more for your trouble. 3 year is $65/hr more there. Definitely will check it out. If anyone has anymore helpful information, please post. Nothing about employment on their website.

I heard them on the radios going into LAX and flying 767, I was surprised about that.

Any updates beside what it’s here?

Monthly guarantee 70 hours.
12 days off a month.
Bases JFK and MIA. Home based possible but you take $10 off your hourly pay to get it.

They are trying to do international scheduled service on select routes.

That's all I know.

Jeff90 12-21-2019 10:33 AM

What are the captain hiring requirements since Jan 20th will be mostly for captain?

Ihateusernames 12-21-2019 11:57 AM

Optimism having a 12 year pay rate. Think they will be around that long? Lol

So the fact eastern went belly up like twice, doesn't bother you?

After 39 years in this paid hobby of ours I've learned two very important lessons

1) Have additional sources of income

2) Having the rug pulled from under your feet is not that big of a deal when you always seem to find a way to land on your feet.

Sadly, you are probably correct

Braniff DC8 12-24-2019 11:34 AM

A couple of things

The history of this particular operation is pretty poor. Quite a number of pilot’s quit to go to Omni recently, mostly captain’s. They went to help with the recent shutdown of a UK airline and the two aircraft were AOG. Three of the eight 767’s have been sitting in Miami for months. They have a terrible reputation already and they’re just getting going, AGAIN. Dynamic was really something.

If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I’d like to read the fine print on the new contract and also see if they’re going to invest in the operation itself. Buying old clapped out 767s or 777s is pretty much a recipe for disaster.

Eastern part 3, what could happen right? They (oops, dropped the Dynamic name) were sued all over the place for their outrageous performance. Went out of business, supposedly, and some how from the ashes rose the Phoenix.

Like most 36th street operations, they will find people. Always have, always will. Miami Air alone can crew half the fleet. World Atlantic is hurting and I won’t mention that other place but, you know whom they are. I would not leave a job to go to Eastern part 3.

There is a cadre of pilots that are suckers for punishment. They dont want or believe in long term stability. They are used to hopping from left-seat to left-seat wherever they go. They dont want to go somewhere else where they have to sit in the right seat. So places like Centurion/Swift/World Atlantic and Eastern 1/2/3/etc remain staffed...no matter the reputation.

Boy....that clears up everything! Thank you Captain Obvious..

“Captain Obvious”-Its cute because ‘airplanes’ right?

NO ONE, in their right mind will Jumpseat on a " 36th Street company " unless they are stuck without a better option. Then, you will say a extra prayer, and kinda hold to your seat. Like flying on a Russian airline in the late 80's, through the 90's

I have a different take...If I may.
Since they are offering more $$, for the same B$ everywhere else, why not take advantage of it.
Feast, while food Is plentiful.

Airplanes, boats, space shuttle...nothing gets by you...right?
I did enjoy the life lesson though " someone for everyone " stuff. I am sure you have more teachings you can share?

Yes it does!

Not defending them mind you, but if there is something we have learned in this paid hobby of ours is that brand names are not exempt from the occasional mechanical issues.

TiredSoul 12-27-2019 06:48 AM

A fuel line coming loose is not “mechanical issues” that’s maintenance issues.
Then evacuating with BOTH engines still running and blowing the slide on the side of the fire....are not “mechanical” issues either.

A lot of the pilots working at these places can not get hired at a reputable place due to their backgrounds. I was once one of those pilots and know other great pilots from these types of airlines. ALL the good ones I know have since moved on. Im sure there are guys and gals that could get hired at majors from this sector, but not many.

But that doesn't mean that all pilots in companies like that are the same.
Some were not given a chance and some are too old to be called on nicest jobs.

Their are offering a decent pay and i will take it. If they want me there and i will do my best as a good professional I am and have always been.

So you used one of these jobs as a transition but still paint everyone with a very wide brush?

Rumors are spreading about how many Swift Captains are already in the next class. And yet others are inquiring. Definitely not good for Swift. Lateral move, but a whole lot more Dinero. Something about $$ talks...and *&%$ walks.

Are you sure is that a good email?

I am considering applying for the next class, after the January class. But I can't seem to find details ( where the Devil hides ) other than what is posted here. Why is there not a profile on APC for Eastern showing the standard stuff, Aircraft, crew bases, guarantee, etc;. Perhaps someone can fix that. Or even put it on their website.

Anyone contemplating employment with, an unknown quantity/quality should conduct, as best as possible, a due diligence research. Websites similar to Glass Door where reviews are posted. Good Idea to know the background of the officers of the company, as well as the members of the 119 team.
