Dynamic Airways

Wondering if anyone has any further info on this 121 Supplemental carrier flying 767s between a bunch of random places...

New York - Guyana
Saipan - China
Guam - China
Miami - South America

I also heard they recently got into hot water for flying in Brazil illegally (cabotage). Anyone able to provide all the usual info regarding working environment and company outlook?

What, I'm still on furlough from them, have been since June 2012. Are they operating again...not that I would go back now, but it would have been nice to tell them that.

That's a good indicator of the quality of the place I think. They're active and hiring a bunch... Any QOL info and tidbits you can provide... Sounds like a good place to avoid.

EatinRamen 07-11-2014 06:16 AM

They began selling tickets between JFK-Guyana, however failed to secure a gate slot at JFK. The first few flights they operated ended up in Atlantic City or Bradley, and bussing pax to/from JFK with extensive delays. Not a good way to start!

Also heard that rumor about them getting kicked out of Brazil.

aviatorhi 11-05-2014 06:44 PM

Any updates?

Heard Swift and the 36th street mafia are involved now.

PCLCREW 11-11-2014 10:39 AM

Heard they recently had all their planes grounded for a short time due to non payments to vendors.
That JFK-GEO flight seems to be the demise of many airlines, funny because it's a good market. I do hear you need to have deep pockets to grease the local wheels in GEO though.

Herman 11-11-2014 11:32 AM

Who's the 36th street mafia? Are you talking about Swift from Phoenix? Are there any Pace airline scum involved. Whose the chief pilot/director ops? No flame here...simply all too familiar w/ these career bottom feeders. Cheers h

744driver 11-11-2014 01:50 PM

36th Street generally refers to NW 36th Street in Miami (on the north side of the airport).

Herman 11-12-2014 02:05 PM

Can someone answer the rest of my questions?

Yes, they are talking about the SWIFT from Phoenix, but it has recently moved to GSO. It is not connected in any way with DYA at this point, except that one of the 40% owners of DYA (passive investor) is also a 50% owner of SWIFT (as well as about 50 other companies). But no interaction between the two companies despite having offices on the same airport.

PM me for names of CP and DO
No one there from PACE that I know of (at least not in management).

Herman 11-13-2014 09:20 AM

Thanks, Cheers h.

aviatorhi 11-15-2014 11:42 AM

Heard they didn't pay their sim bills in MIA, any truth to that?

Malex4u 11-17-2014 03:35 AM

I saw them in Medina during the Hajj.

Herman all I can say is if you're not familiar with the 36th Street Mafia then I suspect you have led a charmed Aviation life. Good on Ya!

I usta live on Brickell, one night a short stack Connie about took the roof off. I called departure control, the guy laughed, and said, "He's still at 300 ft." One too many refrigerators, maybe...

Dynamic Airways is closing its doors and folding up it's wings. They are in major layoff mode as this post is being typed.

Another one bites the dust.

Hire until you furlough, that's the 121 supplemental mantra....

Here's what it says:

GREENSBORO, N.C., Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamic Airways is pleased announce the start of its countdown for non-stop flights to Georgetown, Guyana, scheduled to begin at 1:00AM November 22nd from New York's JFK Airport Terminal One.

NCR757dxr 11-18-2014 09:20 AM

Two airplanes were kept by Air India after Hajj flying. Afaik Air India wanted to cut the money they paid in half and would not release the airplanes and give them departure permits. State department was involved.

Crazy to think just last week everything was "OK" over there. I had a feeling this Air India issue would really hurt them since they were so new and expanding rapidly. They were going to start 767-300 flying very soon as well. I doubt there was any thought of closing this time last week. Amazing how one issue could kill an expanding airline over night.

aviatorhi 11-18-2014 09:34 AM

Still no confirmation. Try to refrain from calling it over based on one post.

NCR757dxr 11-18-2014 10:20 AM

True. I actually had that on my previous post before I cut it down when I was editing.

There was so much going on over there though that I'm sure something will rise out of this over there. To go from expanding to closing overnight seems a little weird. It will work work.

aviatorhi 11-24-2014 04:16 PM

Appears they are not shut down, had to get the US Embassy involved in India to get their airplanes out, were supposed to take delivery of 5 more frames, though that has been put on hold, and their Guyana service has started, albeit with significant delays on at least the first flights.

got2fly 11-24-2014 09:15 PM

Definitely not shut down.
All previously planned expansion still in place.
Still hiring a class a month.
No changes.

groundspoiler 11-25-2014 11:24 AM

That's totally amazing. I was there when they had the MD-88 s and they furloughed all of us on the 88 s so they could keep the 767 guys who were ALL JUNIOR to all of us on the 80's. Scumbag outfit with no morals. Anyone who goes there can't say you were warned. Not one MD88 pilot was ever even considered to be called back ! This outfit is a bunch of DB's.

Did you hit your head when you fell out of the turnip truck?

Bloomboy10 11-25-2014 02:47 PM

For what its worth, just got a call from a friend who's in new hire indoc at Dynamic for a B767 Captain position. They are hiring with only a recommendation from those in class, no advertising. Operating 2 767-200s and a 767-300. Supposed to add 12 or so more 767s in the first quarter of 2015.

Apparently have a 3 year contract for flying in and out of China plus charters and scheduled flights in Asia Pacific, South America and the Caribbean.

They are in a major hiring mode. The India thing is mostly resolved with a hotel bill remaining etc., etc.

That's all he offered.

METO Guido 11-26-2014 11:44 AM

Oh yeah. Soon as that check clears the Mumbai Marriott they're on their way.

Flint Stone 11-28-2014 08:37 AM

Funny operation, I was hired and flew the 767 for them January 2012, they furloughed all pilots and flight attendants in June 2012, we were told we would be called back when they got someone to fly for. Have not heard a word from them since, not that I'd go back since I'm flying for a major now!

Take that for what it's worth.

There has been a COMPLETE change in management just in the last 5 months. New Owners. Every manager at every level has been replaced. This isn't the same dynamic as 2012, not even the same dynamic as it was 6 months ago. Not even close.

Yep, and it pays more than the 767 ever paid, plus jetblue stands a much better chance of being around long term than a start up Charter company. Size of the aircraft does not matter to me, it's all about quality of life! Living in base is about as good as it gets.

Enjoy your 20 day trips.

Enjoy...I just wasn't aware that B6 was a major. Do the flight attendants still run that major? They sure did when I worked there.
