Quote: On another front, has anyone heard any rumors about the mystical third base that's supposed to be announced this year?
Last I heard it was IAH or ORD. ORD would fit the current route structure for us, but Air Whiskey has been told ORD would be their base.

With the slow close down of XJT, I would see us going to IAH next to fill in the 50 seat market that is becoming open. I don't think anyone is running 50 seat feed in IAH right now besides XJT. ORD has several 50 seat feeders.

And with all that said, we have to staff first before any growth will occur. I see an incentive coming in the next few months once the training pipe line is cleared and open.

I think ORD is covered now with the addition of AW. IAH would be a nice change of pace from the northeast. But yes I think that recruiting will play a major role in C5's immediate future. If I was a betting man I'd say that any new base announcement would coincide with whatever new incentives they are hopefully drawing up. That would draw the biggest crowd. My guess is those 20 erj options were to be the foundation in the new base, which all depends on staffing.

Either way, it seems that things are starting to come together lately. Performance has noticeably improved this month. And now that the training delays have been cut in half, they will need to start actively filling up those classes again soon.

Latest class size
I can say there was going to be 8 in the class that started yesterday (3/13)
as I was going to be one of them until I came down with the flu over the weekend.
Commutair was very helpful and moved me back to the next class (3/27).

What class is the junior jet CA in? I know a guy in the November class who still can't upgrade.

Most junior ERJ CA is a 10/3/16 hire. Most likely those pilots are just now getting into the sim, and thus are still in new hire training.

The email said to expect ORD and IAD as hubs. No word yet on what our crew bases will be. Years of working here teach you to never take any news at face value.

He's been on property 4 months and he's not a jet captain yet. The October ERJ guys are just now hitting the line, so I'm guessing your buddy is just now finishing sim.

He could have been flying the line as a Dash captain a month ago had he wanted to, right now ERJ CA is going senior as Dash CA's bid over and ERJ FO's are starting to upgrade.

Junior Dash 8 Captain was hired in February.
