The captain imbalance is still getting worse. I'm not sure what management's strategy is, or even if they have one, but I wouldn't be surprised if FO hiring slows down even more or stops.

I hope I’m wrong but I don’t foresee the company doing anything to try and retain captains/high time FOs until it’s farrrrr too late. We’ve started losing some of the super senior “lifer” capts and Aviate moving the goalposts has made some of the original Aviate FOs I know (who had planned to upgrade here and stick around) start applying to LCCs instead. Frankly I hope every newer FO sitting 8 hours of airport standby and flying <15 hours a month has their app out to F9 or NK at this point because they won’t have lines anyyyyytime soon even with 60 hours being the bottom of our min credit window now.

Get out now. Frontier, Spirit, and JetBlue will hire you and then you can either stay there or move on to UA, AA, or DL within 6-12 months.

Anybody know if C5 provides uniform/luggage during training?

You get sized for it and can order it in the beginning of training. They do one of those things where you get an "allowance" of company money to spend, but really the company keeps track of how much you spent and excuses you from the debt at a rate of $17.50/mo (maybe per pay period?). If you leave before your allowance is fully paid off, they take the remaining balance out of your last check.

As far as during training itself, no uniform/luggage necessary. Business casual dress and backpacks are the norm in the training center

Buy as little as possible from the CO lady. First she's crazy, second Crew Outfitters quality sucks. The only thing they are good for is luggage. I haven't even worn my blazer one single time. Oh they do have decent metal-free shoes too.
