Compass policy on FAR 117 extensions
Just trying to do some comparisons, but how does Compass treat FAR 117 extensions?
-How often do you need to extend, or are asked to extend? -If you extend, do you get anything in return? -If you don't extend, how is pay handled? -If you don't extend, are there any repercussions? |

2.5 years and I've extended 3 times. These were all to complete a flight that was delayed. Two were extended under 30 minutes, and 1 was about 1.5 hours.
No You get payed the same. Nope. |
If you're running into an extension situation on the last day of a trip, 99% of the time you are going to be at an outstation on the last leg of the trip. Not going to happen if you're in base. If you don't accept the extension, they will have to get you a hotel, give you junior man pay and most likely have you operate the flight the next morning. They can call it a fatigue call all they want. This shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not to accept an extension.

I've been asked to extend twice - once in base and once in SFO. Told them no both times.
I've also called in fatigued once. In all cases, I never heard anything back from the company. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 02:25 PM. |
