Default Compass policy on FAR 117 extensions

Just trying to do some comparisons, but how does Compass treat FAR 117 extensions?

-How often do you need to extend, or are asked to extend?
-If you extend, do you get anything in return?
-If you don't extend, how is pay handled?
-If you don't extend, are there any repercussions?

Honestly, I can't answer any of these questions because Compass has never asked me to extend. I've just simply been pulled off the trip.

2.5 years and I've extended 3 times. These were all to complete a flight that was delayed. Two were extended under 30 minutes, and 1 was about 1.5 hours.

Actually if you don't accept the extension you will be forced to speak with the on duty cp and they considered it a fatigue call. The union stands behind the company on this. If you're a commute this will screw you if it's the last day of the trip. You're expected to go to the hotel for 10hrs and the company checks CASS to see if you tried to jumpseat home. Unless you can cabin jumpseat and not be CASS verified.

If you're running into an extension situation on the last day of a trip, 99% of the time you are going to be at an outstation on the last leg of the trip. Not going to happen if you're in base. If you don't accept the extension, they will have to get you a hotel, give you junior man pay and most likely have you operate the flight the next morning. They can call it a fatigue call all they want. This shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not to accept an extension.

I've been asked to extend twice - once in base and once in SFO. Told them no both times.

I've also called in fatigued once.

In all cases, I never heard anything back from the company.
