Lack of instructors?

Word is most are bypassing, which I hope isn’t true because that doesn’t seem the smartest idea if half the flying could be gone in a year. Better to be sitting reserve captain while putting apps out rather than a senior FO.

That could be true considering there was only one alternate on the list last month. If this is the case I’d expect more guys from other carriers for the instant upgrade to a west coast base.

A lot are bypassing, many don’t have the hours. The real question is, why did they cancel upgrade classes, and should we be concerned?

I really wish 150% didn’t spark a feeding frenzy. Would be nice to have some leverage in that regard. I will say there is a significant amount of opentime being offered at critical that is still up for grabs. We all saw the staffing issues coming a mile away.

Does anyone know for sure? Anyone e-mailed planning?

Nevermind -- I read FB.. Looks like FOs don't want to upgrade.

All I know is my seniority can almost hold it and I'm about 3 months away from upgrading. Idk who would bypass it unless you cannot sit reserve anymore because of family or personal reasons. I'd much rather have atleast some PIC under my belt if I'm out of a job next summer.
