Official word from Planning is they didn’t have eligible bidders for a class.

That's exactly what I wanted to know: Were there time-eligible FOs who bid who were denied the upgrade, or were there no eligible FOs?

Does anyone know why the July upgrade class got CXd?

Ha that's exactly when/how I upgraded. Even though I'm still a CA-in-Training and sat reserve for a good bit, it was worth it. But... I'm still here so there's that.. lol. When UPS turned me down, I was in a bad place emotionally. So I applied to Atlas one night at 3 am. They e-mailed right away, but I was feeling better by then so I didn't respond.

You gave Atlas the “you up?” snapchat at 3am

Remember that time in late 2016 when a good number of senior FO's were bypassing waiting for better seniority and suddenly Compass stopped hiring and upgrading for 6 months? I'm not saying it's going to happen again, but it certainly could...

i can’t help but shake my head. I had a conversation with a class mate who didn’t know if he should bid an upgrade. I made the point that you need to take the food that’s on the table as tomorrow could be famine. He declined my advice... took him 7 or 8 months to get a class after those 170s left.

Since we bid in advance can we bid based on projected hours, or do we need to wait until we have the hours and then bid?

You can bid in advance, however they only allow 40 hours per month. So if you need 1000 compass and you’re bidding for an upgrade 3 months from now, you need at least 880 hours at the time you submit the bid.

If it was me? I’d throw it in anyway.

Exactly. Make them tell you "no" rather than not trying at all.

We need the committee to rid our snack baskets of this scourge:

If Capt. Roger Victor gets wind of this, there’ll be he!! to pay...
