I wonder if this means Compass will have to "sweeten the pot" for the flight attendants like they have to the pilots over the years when the staffing has gotten thin and recruits are hard to come by. Something a bit longer than a few days of extra pay. Definitely a much bigger pool of potential applicants for FAs though than pilots.

And so it begins..............CA JAs
Its not so much the fact that they need flying to be covered...its the language that upsets me "this is so and so from scheduling you've been Jr assigned, this is your 2 hour call out" The disrespect..... How bout a nice "Hey we have some flying to be covered today which will be considered a Jr's assignment, or BTW its 150% pay" every now and then....like bro....I'm a human not a robot OK rant over :D #summer19JAonthedaily |

Seriously, a half year gap in hiring two years ago followed by a systemwide inability to get new trainees through the sims in a timely manner last Spring? Combine that with a lot of Captains moving up to the majors? What did anyone expect would happen?
This was totally predictable. Last year’s FO shortage has become this year’s Captain shortage. And it’s going to be godawful by the end of the summer and into the Fall unless serious efforts are made to get upgrade eligible FOs upgrading and near upgrade-eligible FOs flying their butts off to become eligible. Either that or go recruit a bunch of street captains. |

Anybody get the rainmaker password reset to work? I've never had an issue logging in prior. I followed the previous memo and it worked. I was able to login. So today I go to use rainmaker, but nope I couldn't login. So now I follow the new reset memo....But as soon as I begin the process per the new memo to reset my password, again following it step by step, it is telling me right off the bat my login is incorrect so I can't even begin the process.. So I called the phone # only to be told it's been an on going "nightmare" for over 3 weeks and that somebody will have to call me back during business hours to try to help. Which I'm sure I'll be flying during.

Had this exact thing happen. IT tried to fix it a few times too and the problem persisted. The ultimate solution was to have the IT guy himself make up a password, set it, and tell me it over the phone. Haven’t messed with it since

Sick mofo's call out! Had another CA sniffeling and sneezing last trip, ended up getting sick myself too. But I didn't realize how bad off he was till the end of the trip.
On a 90 degree intercept for 16R, cleared for the approach, about 2-3 miles from course... CA is still in HDG mode. I ask if he wants NAV. No response. I ask are you going to turn? "Oh..." If he hadn't of responded and selected NAV I was about to take the plane. ATC asked if we were turning because at the 12 position on the other side, another jet was coming at us. We went slightly through course. He just wasn't paying attention or couldn't focus. I thought one time thing, okay... But then again coming in on final, different approach, his head clearly wasn't in it. I knew we weren't even close to being stable up ahead, said we're not going to make it early on. At 1000' we were 40 knots fast, flaps 3 (he just then called flaps 5), I called unstable. Had that not been the end I would I would have called scheduling and a CP about him being sick and the complete lack of focus. Pilots, if you're that damn sick and can't focus, call out! |
