New Guy

I start at compass soon. Can anyone give me info on the training? What is the home study like? What does the week of ground at MSP cover? How long is the training in Montreal? I have heard 30 days to 65. Any info would be great.

Sorry I don't have any answers for you, just a question: When do you start? I also am starting somewhat soon (Feb 1st) was and wondering how many classes are starting before mine.

Thanks

Thanks. Sorry to sidetrack the question. I want to know this stuff too. I’m also interested in knowing what seniority numbers the new guys are getting right now. I’ve been told anywhere from 150-200 but lets see if we can narrow that down a bit.

seniority numbers

Well, I guess it is your lucky day...They just sent out an updated email with the seniority lists on it. Aug 8 is the most junior CA at seniority number 73. As far as FO's go number 82 is the most junoir FO that is out of IOE and listed as line qualified his/her hire date was 8-17-07. As far as the most junior guy on the list? Well that would be number 152 hired 11-17-07. Hope that helps some. We also just recieved acft #7 and I heard today that #8 is waiting in Brazil for a crew. ;)

Talked to some people who just finished the home study. They said it was pretty in depth. The week in MSP touches on stuff in the home study (pretty sure). The training in YUL lasts about 30 to 45 days. I was up there for 35. I have not heard of anyone being up there much more than 40 days. The hotel up there is great. Lots to eat and drink, free breakfast, free dinner on some days. Close to a bus stop to get downtown for a couple bucks each way.

Thanks for the info. I was told my class would be in the 160's. Is the training done by flight safety?

Schwartz 12-10-2007 06:05 PM

The Training is done by CAE contract instructors.

2-15-08 here... How many are there in each class? I'd like to start earlier but I think the classes are full. Can't wait to start!!! :D

I think there is six in each class. That is what it says on this site if you go to Compass.
