Pretty much the same as you've probably read. Make sure you get in to IAD by 11:00pm because the hotel van stops running then. Hotel has a decent breakfast and will take you over to HQ. Jami in HR called me the day before to let me know to take the 8am van (it only runs on the hour) so we weren't leaving the hotel at 7am and sitting there for 45 minutes before anyone got to the offices at 8am. Given taxi vouchers to go to the drug test/airport. Nothing unexpected, still do the written test as well.

Thanks. Got it on Tues. in the afternoon. How long did it last? I am trying to list to go back home that night.

There were 3 of us...I was the first done and left the drug test at 12:30 or so, just barely missed a 1:00pm flight home.

Can anyone give me a place where i can see the contract and/or schedules? Im getting furloughed from RAH on the 175 and i hate to lose the airframe (best plane i have ever flown). I commute from the west coast so MSP is what I want and i need it (trips) to be commutable.

I am thinking about giving up on the airlines and Compass is my last best hope for the time being but i will only take it if QoL is good and the trips are bearable. If not I guess I'll do the ol' "fall back on my degree" plan...

If you haven't interviewed or applied at Compass yet then you are going to be on reserve for quite a while, and longer if you need to be based at MSP which you probably would not even be able to get if you're not already lined up for a class.

Apply NOW if you are going to at all.

They are hiring the last 30-50 pilots at this time out of about 360 total. Attrition is 1-2 a month.

Compass Info

What contrails has said is true. However, we are a regional airline and the bottom 1/3 to 1/4 of the list will rotate like it does at every other regional. When the upgrade time gets over about 18 months people will leave to go to places for street capt postions etc. We have a 12 month 12k training contract that if you already have 60k in debt from flight training will mean very little to you. We don't really have any attrition right now except for people not showing up for class when hired. I checked today with our CP and he confirmed this. PM if you want more info. I have been here 14 months and I still like my job.

Training contracts are crap and dont mean anything to me or anyone with a lawyer, please.

Commutability is the key ontop of contract. Where can I see this stuff?

Also, what is likely to change after DeltaWest becomes a reality?

Here's an idea: why don't you apply, see if you get called for an interview and if you do, ask these questions right there. And be sure to mention the whole "traning contracts don't mean anything" line while you are at the interview table.

Because Im so fed up with the airlines that i really dont have any interest in interviewing for a compnay i wouldnt want to work for. Simply put I'M DOING MY HOMEWORK TO SAVE ME AND THEM THE TIME. It cost money for both parties to set up and attend an interview and i have better things to do then fly all over the country hauling my study books in a suit just to get hired and find out:
their pairings arnt commutable on either end (RAH)or:
the dont pay extra for OT (RAH) or:
it takes 5 years to hold enough senority to get to the base you want (Mesaba)or:
it will be 9+ years before you upgrade (Eagle)or:
your union leaders are theives and will terminate you for looking somewhere else (RAH)or:
the doors might shut in a week without notice (your pick of companies) or:
mainline pilots can flow-back and screw you out of you seat (Eagle...may soon be Compass) or:
the only code share you have might drop you at any time (Xjet) or:
your company down right sucks and belongs in the trash according to every pilot in the counrty, including the ones that work there (Mesa) or:

............
The Pilots in-house have the best answers to my questions and I will know all that i can to make an informed decision prior to an interview. If you like to go around meeting the HR of every airline out there just for the sake of asking questions have at it, I have a life that needs tending to.

Im based in DTW and most trips are commutable on both ends with the rest at least at one end. I have yet to see a trip start before 8 and finish after 10 pm. Most start around 11am to 2 pm and finish 2pm to 5 pm. MSP has kinda of the same structure. Base :

This is a typical trip out of MSP with a 1400 show and 2027 release. If you live in the west coast there is more chance that NWA has flights later at night.

Picking up trips on your time gets paid at normal rate. However if scheduling offers the trip via e-mail it is at 150%
