Default Compass Fuel Burn Problem?

So hears the new rumor floating about in the terminal that I heard yesterday and wondering if there is any truth to the rumor...

Well I heard from my babies momma sister uncle that NW is holding off on deliveries because the fuel burn on the 175 is approx. 15% more than the 900...I wonder if any of you guys can come up with actually figures seeing how my babies momma sister uncle can never be very accurate on anything she or he or whoever said. Thanks. Safe flying

Do you mean new orders and not deliveries?

Because if you really meant deliveries you'd have a tough time explaining why Compass is taking delivery of three new E-175s this week.

I don't think its any mystery that E-Jets will burn more fuel than CRJs with the same seating capacity (E-170 vs. CR7, 175 vs CR9).

To have the best fuel burn and to make a profit, Embraer states that the 175 must have 58% of capacity. Canadair states 53% capacity for NG -900.

That 53% has nothing to do with a guaranteed profit.. Its comparing the CRJ900 fuel burn vs average european car fuel fuel (6.44L/100km) = 35mpg. So if the CRJ900 has 47 pax, it will be as efficient as a car.

How amazing is that - an average of 35 mpg in Europe?!

False. 3 this week 4 more by the end of year. The only thing we are doing is giving Pinnacle, Mesaba some of the flights we cannot staff. Very limited flights though.
