You may be able to get in with less then a 1000 multi though. My sim partner at Compass only had 600 multi when he was hired. Does'nt hurt to fill out the online application, just make sure you meet all the other requirements.

For what it's worth...
Age discrimination is only protected for employees over the age of 40. Wiki the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. Compass could set an arbitrary age of 23 or 39 and be within the bounds of the law, that's not good business though. You exceed competitive minimums? That's really impressive for someone who is not 23! What kind of experience do you have? Do you have a degree? Apply, it can't hurt. If you get hired quit your whining...Compass has already exceeded it's whining quota. |
hey Oberon how do I get rid of the new hire quote under my name?

As far as the age thing, it's no different than when a bar requires you to be 21 to be hired as a bartender. |

My point to this post is that I am not 23 years old, but I do have ATP mins. Would I be considered for a job at compass? I have all of their mins covered-- aprox 2000 total time, 1300 part 121, 1500 multi, 700 (ish) PIC, etc. Can compass discriminate by age? Just curious-- I'm only remotely willing to give up seniority for delusional security, but I am intrigued. |
Thats like saying the legal drinking age is discriminating against 20 year olds.

StallFail...
I will give you credit for having a fair amount of time for a young guy however competitive mins at Compass are up in the 4000 to 6000 time with lots of PIC. I know its a regional but its all about suply and demand right now. Plus your 22 go out and enjoy some more college and chase some tail. |

I just received this from ALPA:
We’ve gotten news through our fellow ALPA pilots at Compass Airlines their company may start hiring soon – possibly even by year’s end. A class starting by the end of this year is a possibility. If any pilots are interested in pursuing a possible job at Compass, please forward your resume to [name and email edited out by moderator] and he will hand deliver it to the chief pilot's office. He encourages you to submit a cover letter with your resume and complete the online application at www.compassairline.com, which is required before any resume is reviewed or interview granted. Currently, Compass is holding to ATP minimums for applicants; in the past they have been flexible on the 1,000 hours of multi time. Anyone seriously interested should complete the application very soon. If the company decides to run a class for December, they may start interviewing soon. I'd image you'd need to double or even triple those flight times as well.
