NBAA Aviation Contractor Membership

As in the title, I am considering applying for membership. It's the only path that I clearly am eligible for. Seems like the right thing to do since I began contract flying and sim instructing in the past few months. Given I live in LAS, I'm hoping to attend the convention in the fall. Any thoughts on the benefits of membership for an individual contract pilot? I supposed getting myself listed in the directory might be a plus. But it seems counter-intuitive that Aviation Contractor members are ineligible for access to the Compensation and Benchmark Survey. Obviously, department managers and Chief Pilots would be major survey participants and users, but why not a guy who's out there chasing the work? It's sort of important to have a realistic view of pay expectations as you seek the jobs. And who better to poll for pay data than contract pilots who are exposed to a variety of operators? It's a bizarre exclusion; any insight as to the purpose, or suggested side doors to participation? Thanks!

Call the NBAA directly by phone and you can join as an individual. You'll get all the privileges of membership including access to the website. They just won't do individual memberships thru the website.

Everybody pays for the salary survey data--either electronic or hard copy.

I'd wait until the end of the year. The return on investment for joining NBAA at full value probably isn't there. The run discounts for new members for $89 at the end of the year.
If you are not on pro pilot world, I would suggest that over NBAA. Lots of great information for very little cost.
