EG&G "Janet airways"

I flew with an ex-Janet guy a few years back. He said the best part of the job was being able to deny FAA inspectors...well, pretty much anything! He said the FAA isn't allowed on their LAS ramp at all. Being able to flip the bird to the feds would be reason enough to take the job.

From my research on it, they operate under 91. I havnt heard anything on 121. Most of what you guys say are true about ramp checks ( I hear it still happens? I guess the new inspectors are not advised of that.... whats the deal with the black 4x4 story? ). Lately, I heard management sucks but this information seems old. I understand the qualification for 737 position, however there isnt much information on the +5 beechliners in operation( are they apart of JT3 or URS? seems like they do the same operations to the same locations and others). Im curious if its possible for a civilian to go through the beechliner route and step up the ladder, if its worth the costs of security clearance.
PS they havnt used the callsign janet for years ( i believe ever since dreamland callsign was dropped), they change it every month to weird words like racer, hawker, etc etc...

Guys who I know that have worked there are not super enthusiastic about it. Lots of work, not so great work rules or pay.
Outside of the "cool factor" that some folks might have about the destinations, it's apparently not that fantastic of a job if there are better ones available.
One acquaintance told me that the best thing that he got from there was a 37 type that he could take to his SWA application.
