Question for Hawker Pilots
#1
I think Hawkers are cool, and I understand they have tremendous range. Im cool with the weeping wings.
The question I always had about a Hawker is luggage capacity. It looks rather small, and looks like some items would encroach on the asile.
Here is my scenario:
6 Passengers with 3 big rollboards, two big (35" long) duffle bags that don't colapse well, three small duffle bags that do collapse, two small hanging garmet bags, and three sets of golf clubs. One pilot has a rollboard, and one pilot has a medium duffle bag. Two pilot briefcases.
This is
1. No problem
2. Impossible nightmare
3. Do-able with creative packing.
4. Let's buy a C-90 to fly the luggage.
Thank you for your input.

Here at Netjets, whatever doesn't fit, we fedex to wherever they want.
As far as the luggage/bags you mentioned, just gotta get creative, and for us, don't brake any NJ-FOM SOPs. Don't put the bags next to the emergency exit, or in the lav, anywhere else is fair game. Golf clubs go in the sofa, no sofa, behind one of the rear seats. The rest I'm sure I can fit in, no problem. 3 years doing that at NJ you learn how to load a Hawker..Only once we had to fedex stuff, they were Falcon 2000 owners, they had like 12-13 bags.
Got a chance to fly one of the new Hawker-900s we have, great machine...
The range is not bad, many 135 operators take it to Europe with a stop in the middle (Gander).

Thanks!
When you say the clubs go in the sofa, do you mean belted down on the sofa? I was not aware of the extra closet in the back of the cabin which I saw on the NJ website. Do all Hawkers (800s) have that?

when I got hired at NJ, I wanted the G-200 or Falcon 2000, now I'm glad they threw me into the Hawker. I like the hawker 800, its a man's airplane. I look at it as the 727 of biz jets, built like a tank, reliable, and can take a lot of abuse and hard landings.
did you get a Hawker job?

Hawkers are good aircraft, but...
1. Need to get rid of the TKS system. Can be hard to come by at some locations.
2. Hawker needs to seriously rethink the baggage confirguration.
3. It's a .76M (XP version) aircraft, almost as slow as the Citation series.
Other than that it's a great aircraft that's economical and reliable.

I've heard the 4000 is a good aircraft...by the Hawker-Beechcraft people. But this aircraft has been elusive not only to the public, but to the manufacturer as well. It's taken 6-7 yrs just to get the type certification. Waited so long on doing so they almost hit another brick wall. Now after they have their type certificate, their still being held up on the production certificate. According to the last update in an professional magazine, they still have yet to make the first delivery.
