I am not a ho!

When I obtained my CFI ticket I told myself I would not prostitute myself by instructing at a local FBO for only $10.00 per flight hour. I have invested much time and energy obtaining my ratings and believe I should be compensated more than your average dishwasher or bus boy. It has been slower going than I would like, but for the past 3 years I have been an independent flight instructor in Seattle and I charge my students what I feel my time is worth. I am reaching the point in my career where I would like to be flying bigger, better and faster planes. From what I have heard, most regional airlines seem to fall into the "prostitution" catagory. I have the patience and would like my next move to be a career move as opposed to a time building move. That said, is there anyone in the corporate world, preferably in the Pacific NW, who is sincereley happy with their aviation employment?

Good luck flying right seat in anything and not putting in your dues. You'll probable be loading bags and cleaning the LAV if fly corporate. Good luck though.

...Amen to that, TXav8r13. Your first job flying larger equipment is typically a time builder move. You need the "right kind of time" to move up in this industry, especially with the competition that you are up against these days. Great first jobs are far, few, and between. Good luck in your quest.

PS. I'm glad to see that you don't work for peanuts. Good for you.

I suppose I would load the bags and clean the lav if they pay me enough and tell me that they love me. So maybe I am a Ho. But I am not cheap Ho! Back to the main point, does anybody fly a corporate job they like?

I did... effin Lehman Bros...

Sorry to hear about that. Maybee they would still be in business if they were like everyone else and treated their pilots like crap.

What? Ever heard of line service? I've been flying corporate for years and have yet to clean the LAV.

You live in Seattle, right. If I remember correctly Nordstroms and American Seafood is based out of BFI. A big paper manufacturer is out of SEA (can't remember the name). But on a week off take a trip down to PDX mainly HIO, lot's of corporate in Oregon because of the tax situation.
Most of my time is with corporate and I like it. But some can really bite!

I've just started one, so I should know in a month or so.....but even though it appears to be a bit more work, I think it will be more of a challange, which is a good thing.
