Found! The perfect flying job

OK Boys you can stop looking, I have found the perfect flying job on another chat board called beechtalk.com based at a sh@# h#$% town in Montana and just had to share it. I could not stop laughing.:D

Tim Robertson
I joined this forum a few months back to learn more about an airframe/engine combination for a C90A (PT6A-35). Have since purchased the a/c and am in the pilot search process.
Below is most of the job description -- hope I'm in keeping with the spirit and rules of this forum and thread.
Any leads on an interested and qualified individual would be appreciated. This has been posted on Climbto350.com (briefly) and in that time we received many "interesting" resumes...and a few truly qualified candidates, but haven't found the perfect person yet.

Thanks in advance! Replies directly to me.
Tim

Based at: Lewistown, Montana

Job purpose:
To provide professional piloting services in the corporate aircraft on an as-needed basis throughout the year. In addition, the Corporate Pilot is responsible for conducting and/or ensuring (in cooperation with his/he supervisor) professional scheduling, paperwork management, cleaning of the aircraft, light and heavy maintenance of the aircraft through the local FBO, caretaking of the hangar facility (interior and exterior) and all related aviation duties. When not working on aviation-related duties, the Corporate Pilot will provide general technical duties that may include hangar improvement projects, antique aircraft/auto/tractor restoration and maintenance, and/or general technical duties.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Conduct flights as the sole pilot in the corporate aircraft, always ensuring that safety and professional piloting standards are maintained to the highest degree possible.
2. Fly approximately 200 - 300 hours/year in King Air C90A.
3. Fly approximately 30 – 60 hours/year in Cessna 182 (VFR flight only).
4. Maintain currency and obtain regular training as defined by FAA regulations, insurance requirements and corporate policy. Century pays for all training.
5. Maintain a flight schedule via Microsoft Outlook on the Century network servers.
6. This position requires the Corporate Pilot to be in an on-call status throughout the traditional asphalt paving season. This season is defined as roughly April 15 to November 15. “On-call status” is defined as being able to provide legal flights with a one-hour notice from 5 p.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Saturday during the paving season. Limited vacations and relief from “on-call status” are available with adequate planning and permission from the supervisor.
7. During “off-peak” or outside of the traditional construction season the pilot will be on call with a 3-hour response time on Monday through Friday during normal working hours. Most flights during this period of time will be scheduled days or weeks in advance.
8. Monitor and ensure that the corporate aircraft are in airworthy, ready-to-fly status as is possible based on maintenance schedules and requirements.
9. Perform cleaning and light maintenance of the aircraft as is permissible by FAA regulations. The local FBO performs all A&P/IA required maintenance.
10. Maintain and manage all aviation-related paperwork as required by government agencies and per Century policies and procedures. Create paperwork systems and policies as they are needed in order to maintain a safe and highly efficient aviation program within the company.
11. Provide training and currency assistance to other corporate pilots or employees as defined by supervisor.
12. The corporate hangar is a combination aircraft hangar/museum/meeting and event center. Provide caretaker services as required by the hangar lessee, including maintenance of the interior and exterior of the building(s) to the lessee’s standards for professional presentation, prepare for and clean up after meetings and events, and maintain the museum quality of the facility.
13. When not providing the above-mentioned duties, collectively described as “aviation duties,” maintain a productive level of contribution to the company in one of the following capacities:
1. General mechanical technician duties.
2. Hangar special-event preparation and cleanup
3. Fleet maintenance assistance, which may include any of the tasks or responsibilities performed by the employees of the equipment division.
4. Antique aircraft/auto/tractor restoration and maintenance as the individual's talents and experience allow.
5. Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
While “comp time” is not a formal element of this job, we do recognize the nature of a professional pilot’s job. Long days and weeks are the norm, therefore appropriate preparation and recuperation time are allowed for, which means that both the pilot and the employer must be flexible with the pilot’s schedule in times of heavy flying. Century is a heavy/highway construction company with a true “team” culture wherein all employees are expect to go above and beyond for the good of the team. We expect all of our employees to contribute to the best of their ability – the pride in company and extraordinary results benefit all employees with great compensation and an exemplary work environment.
Compensation:
Salaried position, wage commensurate with experience; $45,000 - $62,000/year
Extensive benefit package including full family medical, dental and vision coverage (premium fully paid by Century), fully vested retirement and 401K programs worth on average 8 – 12% of base wage; short-term and long-term disability; PTO (Paid Time Off) earned from day one, Life Insurance policy; Flexible Spending Account; Century Credits worth more than $800/year for a full-time employee.
Typical benefit package value: $12,000 - $15,000/year

I have seen some crazy flying jobs but this one beats all. As one guy said you need to be a Pilot, Lawn Mower, Museum Operator, Janitor, Mechanic, Auto Mechanic, Event Coordinator, CFI, Tractor Restorer/Mechanic..... Meeting Setterupper/Cleanerupper..... ect. ect.

Once I saw the "restoring antique equipment"..... this has to be a joke.

Tim Robertson sums it up best, stating he has not found the "perfect person". Good luck in your search.

OleDawg 03-20-2011 07:16 AM

Sounds like most corporate jobs, except for the retirement and health care packages.

HercDriver130 03-20-2011 09:00 AM

This job has been posted at least one other time in the past two years.

lowduster,

I don't think your post is funny at all. I don't know Tim nor do I know anything about the job he is offering. What I do know as a member of BeechTalk's forum is the members there are honorable men and women who love their Beechcrafts.

I think, in all fairness, others on this thread should know that you deliberately deleted something in Tim's Beechtalk post.

"PLEASE do not copy and post this job on other sites/boards!".

Just sayin', that's kinda sleezy.
