We have a trip coming up for Oz and was wondering if there are any gotchas or specials to look out for. We have trip planners and all the standard stuff but any additional info would be appreciated. Gracias.

If you are vectored or given direct to a fix, after assigned an arrival they still expect you to cross abeam the fixes at the altitudes depicted on the arrival. Have fun.

Take some of the pesticide spray. You'll need to show it to customs as soon as you land--maybe even before you open the door.

Thanks for the replies so far. Complete bummer about the prices for a pint! Where do you get the pesticide? I've been hunting high and low with no luck.

Bring lots of money.

"Cancel all speed restrictions" means you can go as fast as you like above and below 10K

Do not expect ATC to use any common sense or be as user friendly in any way.

Brush up on your mental arithmetic. They have a nasty habit of asking you to leave a fix at a certain time, after holding so that you can reach a subsequent fix at a certain time.
