Single engine ATP

I have heard of several people take the single engine check ride so they can seal the written and take the multi when they choose. But has anybody ever had a job where the single engine ATP was a required check in the box? I have never heard of a job that requires the single ATP as a prerequisite. If anybody knows of a job or has a job that requires it i am interested in knowing more!

Back in the early 90's after I got the multi engine land ATP, I got a Single Engine Sea ATP. The company that offered me a job flying out of the East River, down town New York City, wanted me to have it since they were operating Cessna Caravans. I would think most operators of big single engine turbine aircraft would also want candidates to have it. Aircraft such as the PC-12, Caravan, TBM, turbine Beaver and Otter to name a few.

SEL not SES

If you read the entire post it mentions SEL. PC-12, TBM are SEL as the Caravan can be as well!
Just what is it you want, someone to tell you to just do it, we'll go for it pal.

I fly air ambulance in a PC12 and they required an ATP, CAMTS requirement I think. Got my single ATP while at Flight Safety.

I flew medevac in PC12's as well, maybe for the same company you work for. CAMTS does not care if the ATP is SEL or MEL, just as long as you have an ATP. I used my ME ATP to satisfy the requirement and flew as a commercial SE pilot.

Some operators may require a SE ATP, but CAMTS did not.

Island Airlines operates Caravans on scheduled air service Hyannis-Nantucket. ("Commuter" operation). The operation requires an ATP with SEL.

There's probably a small handful of others. Pacific Wings in Hawaii?

PC isn't in Hawaii anymore.

Ah, I'm behind the times. Hope the door didn't hit too hard on the way out. Had a buddy worked for them around the 2004 time frame and described the whole operation with a lot of colorful language.

Anyway, a little googling revealed that "Seaport Airlines" and it's sub-brand Wings of Alaska fly Caravans and PC-12s in commuter operation and therefore must require the ATP with SEL.

Seaport doesn't have pc12's anymore and the caravan doesn't require atp. Seems like unless you are in a pc12 then you don't really need a single engine atp.
