Absolutely. I'm pretty certain our HR folks (as well as our Chief Pilot) are completely unaware of the new pay rates at the airlines (and Walmart). A company such as mine won't have any reason to adjust pay unless they lose people or if they start seeing corporate salaries move up on surveys.

Does anyone know what Walmart is paying their large cabin captains?

From what I've heard, the senior Lear Captains are at 205 (total compensation) and the large cabin guys get about another 10k on top of that.

With the Allegiant and UPS T/A's it appears that the chasm is growing larger between corporate salaries and airlines. I like my current job (corporate) but I'm giving serious consideration to returning to 121. Just can't ignore that kind of salary disparity.

+1

You're not alone. I have been eyeballing going 121 as well. It is impossible to ignore the higher salaries, which you'll earn quicker than being in corporate.

I would guess there are Many qualified pilots amongst the corporate ranks who have yet to apply but with that large pay difference that will probably change.
And the fact that holding a desired base might be getting easier/quicker.

yup....I'm ready to bail. I think after this generation of 'older' pilots retires from corporate flying there will be a major talent grab but the time isn't soon.

I left corporate (Walmart in fact) about 3.5 years ago and have no real regrets. Sure I miss my Hilton Diamond status and I'm a little more tired at the end of my trips. But the control over my schedule has been priceless. I haven't missed a single family event, kids soccer game, or parent teacher conference since I left. Took me about 3 years to get back to what I was making there (of course that was before their big pay raise)

Airline flying is 95% flying and 5% BS.

Corporate flying was 95% BS and 5% flying.

I only worked for one department though so your mileage may vary.

I wonder if the guy who left Walmart last year for UPS, then left UPS in training to go back to Walmart is happy with his choice today.
