2016 Pro Pilot salary study

Received the June 2016 issue of Pro Pilot with the salary study.
It appears the "selected" group of calculated numbers is VERY low.
I know for a fact the salary I submitted is not represented.
And I know Many pilots getting and turning down jobs that pay much more than the "High" number.
I will call this list unreliable.
So, what does everyone think?
Real or are many of these salaries possibly Directors artificially deflating numbers to keep department numbers down?
Or just not enough people submitting?

The survey is just another tool used by the man to keep a brotha down!

What are the chances that CP/Directors are submitting what they'd like salaries to be rather than what the market is commanding? That seems like it would be a huge back office cabal to pull off industry-wide.

If you have a Director worth his salt, he will be quite familiar with what your market is demanding despite what the NBAA numbers may represent.

Agreed that the numbers are quite low, especially for the Northeast. Laughable in retrospect.

Anyway to see the numbers online?

That crazy theory was a comment made to me by a CP.

Some corporate flight department managers bonus' are based on keeping expenses down.

True, many a manager's bonus is tied to budgetary constraints. I've found that the industry leading departments pay little attention to salary surveys and more to retention and cost of living adjustments on a yearly basis.

Doubt there are enough managers to directly affect a survey of that size, my guess is that people are simply not paying top tier prices. In the NE, in aircraft <90k are seeing on average total compensation climbs of 8-12% per year.

Numbers seem accurate if they were 1st year pay and new to the equipment. But inaccurate for anyone with experience in type or time with the company.

Which numbers? I don't believe the "high" numbers are inaccurate at all for experienced pilots. We pay a little more than the high level and have no problem securing senior level people when (if) we every have an opening.
