I'm sorry. When did we restrict travel domestically?

Here's an interesting timeline of how the virus got everywhere in America. And it's because we slept on COVID for 8 weeks. And we're repeating our mistakes right now, which is mindblowing.

Stop pretending to be stupid. Oh wait...

Your comorbidity argument absolute nonsense that you're parroting from right-wing media. Here's a newsflash:

If you have cancer and you're involved in a car accident and died, the car accident still killed you.

So you can try change the debate, move goalposts, declare up is down.. it's doesn't matter. COVID is real and it's coming to your town, princess. Wear a mask.

Brb. Going to hide from the Covid monster.

Okay. Now that I'm done with that, let's talk about this:

If you have cancer and you're involved in a car accident and died, the car accident still killed you.
Sure, I'll buy that. But when those individuals who are dying of covid were on their way out anyway - it's disingenuous at best, intentionally misleading at worse, to use those numbers to hype the big bad Covid monster. Specifically individuals who had pre-existing heart and lung conditions. The vast, vast, vast, vast, overwhelming majority of people dying from Covid aren't just healthy individuals dropping dead. They're unhealthy, elderly, or both.

Cry me a damn river. Time to get on with life. If YOU want to hide under your bed, go for it. Tell obese, chain smoking Meemaw she should probably join you. The rest of the otherwise healthy people in this country face greater risks of death in their daily lives than Covid.

Deal with it.

You probably think you're a bad ass, not being afraid of the pandemic. You can go to work, you can order a steak at the Golden Corral with not a shred of anxiety. You're manly man who doesn't let "scientists" tell him what to do.

The truth is that you're biggest coward of them all. You can't even face this. You make excuses about how it's not so bad. You tell yourself it's no big deal, and if we just go about our days it will resolve and you won't suffer any loss or hardship.

This is what denial is. And you're scared as hell.

Clearly you must be opposed to voting and elections then.

I've been told I have toxic masculinity. But then I realized I'm not allowed to be male or female.

I have 'them masculinity'.

The issue here is that you want, crave even, others to be just afraid as you, so you don't feel like such a pariah for being scared of your own shadow.

We're not. In fact, a lot of us just don't give a **** any more. If Meemaw, who chain smoked for 40 years, dies of Covid - so be it. I simply don't care.

Get over it.

Just as long as it's not your Meemaw, right?

Don't even care at this point. I have my own family to feed. Meemaw could have made better decisions in her 30s and 40s, and perhaps a respiratory illness in her 80s wouldn't kill her.

Bummer.

On a more serious note - I think it's important to understand the reason local governments are back on high alert. The death rate is not alarming to them. At all. Not even a little, actually. Doctors in the ICU in places that are seeing a spike are getting nervous because there aren't enough beds to house the brain anneurism patient and the Covid patient. This is coming from an incredibly high ranking health care official in the Austin, TX area, FWIW.

If you want to have a leg to stand on with your current approach, you need to draw it back to overwhelming the healthcare system - not the number of deaths.

You're welcome.
