I'm not sure about pneumonia deaths/year.
I feel Iike if you're walking around healthy, and get COVID (which then results in pneumonia and you die) that's a COVID death. It seems like people are saying "see they're calling that a COVID death when it was pneumonia, so the COVID deaths are inflated" Same with having any other pre-existing condition or comorbidity, you're living life, not 100% healthy, but you manage. Then you get COVID, it aggravates your condition or comorbidity and you die. Seems like BUT FOR COVID, you'd be alive, then that should be a COVID death, no? The point was, pneumonia deaths are being counted as COVID deaths regardless of the reason for having pneumonia. Not all pneumonia is COVID related. Otherwise, it would be a totally new phenomenon. |

Yes, I do expect you to take me seriously, as you’re mixing Europe population with European COVID numbers from two sources. EU population is 446 million-ish.

https://europa.eu/european-union/abo...ures/living_en Population of Europe as of Sunday, August 2, 2020: 747,678,224 (source- https://www.worldometers.info/world-...pe-population/) Population of the United States as of Sunday, August 2, 2020: 331,183,579 (source- https://www.worldometers.info/world-...us-population/) Total Covid 19 Cases on day 136 after first hitting 10,000 cases: Europe- 2,717,811 (source- https://www.worldometers.info/corona...rope-usa-cases) United States- 4,813,637 (source - https://www.worldometers.info/corona...rope-usa-cases) Total Covid 19 deaths on day 138 since first hitting 100 deaths: Europe- 199,382 (source- https://www.worldometers.info/corona...ope-usa-deaths) United States- 158,365 (source- https://www.worldometers.info/corona...ope-usa-deaths) Those are the same sources, with data taken on the same date, at the same point in the outbreak within each region. Is that simple enough for you? BTW- I had to use days 136 and days 138 respectively because Europe has been dealing with Covid 19 for a longer time than has the United States. The total numbers, as of August 2, 2020: Europe Cases (Day 147 since first reaching 10,000 cases): 2,898,497 USA Cases (Day 136 since first reaching 10,000 cases): 4,813,637 Europe Deaths (Day 151)- 203,794 USA Deaths (Day 138)- 158,365 Same Source as Above. Please provide data from a source which shows the USA handling this better than Europe, as was the original claim made in post #7 of this thread "Next, I don't know WTF is going on in Europe and frankly, all I know is they have worse numbers than us." |

Fact: The CDC stated that the number of COVID deaths that occurred between March 1st and May 30th as 95,235. The Journal of American Medical Association studied and found that when they took out the stated number of COVID deaths that there was still a 28% increase in the average death rate. Their study concluded that the stated COVID death totals were most likely being underreported.
Facts matter. Yes, they do. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e86e56dd19.jpg |

At what point do we decide to ask the weak to isolate themselves instead of everyone else being suppressed in order protect a handful of people?
So a handful of people in this country is like 40 percent. 42 percent obesity in the US 40 something percent that have preexisting condition plus the elderly. Sure there is over lap but either way it’s not a few people. |

Very few people have died from CV out of the entire population.... close to 0.03%
I wasn’t saying you were wrong about mortality I was just pointing that out because just guard the vulnerable is a big ask at 42 percent. Also these are the folks that tend to end up in the hospital and that statins care for all conditions. That was all. |

Full disclosure: I did chase my pre dinner cocktail with a post dinner milkshake the other night. Two of them actually. I felt bad...for a minute. |
