Default California to lift stay at home order

Per the California Restaurant Association. Announcement expected soon, despite higher Covid numbers, higher death tolls, and new strains.

I wonder what changed.

The delayed realization that all science points to lockdowns being ineffective and that Newsom may in fact have created a worse situation and the numbers clearly not improving.

The petition to recall the governor is getting closer to having the required number of signatures.

Newsom really needs to consult Knobby and Wutface before making such a determination.

The threat of losing one's job (governorship) is a a mighy strong driving force. This appears to be the only force this govenor will listen and bow to. About-face!

With the downward trend in cases, ICU capacity is expected to go above 15% this week. One of the parameters they use for added restrictions. It’s in the news. That’s why they’re starting the lift. It’s not because they listened to Flyfalcons.

Positivity rate, daily positive tests, and daily deaths (by almost double) are all higher now than they were when the initial order was issued on December 3rd.
