It is my understanding that if we do not pull back the virtual basing idea by the end of this year, then we as a pilot group will be locked in to it with no idea how it will be implemented. Is this true? If so why are we not addressing this issue as time is running out? I realize this topic has been discussed with pros and cons of both, however until we know how it will be used, should we not pull this or at the least use it as some leverage in future negotiations?

This is from MOU 16-03 about Virtual Basing and TDY. I read the below that it expires on Dec 1, 2017 if we don't do anything.
Duration
This MOU will become effective on its date of signing and will remain in effect for a period of one year following December 1, 2016 unless extended by agreement of the parties.

Someone bet me on here that virtual bases would be in heavy use by last August when I stated they were not a priority for the company. I hope they paid that bet by making a donation as agreed upon to the pilot relief fund.

Pretty safe bet when they pushed implementation to 2018. Not being prepared isn't the same as not interested.

If VB's had all the magical properties the forum gave them implimentation would have been at the top of the companies list. That was my point in the bet made over a year ago.
