Reroute Pay

First time getting this....shoes under reroute pay on the time card but isn’t added to the credit. Does it just show up on your paycheck? The trip is already closed out. Thanks in advance.

Unless your airport is closed for weather, then its straight pay...

If the airport is closed for WX you would not receive reroute pay at all. You would get all normal duty rigs however they would show up as credit.

That happened to me once. We only got the extra 5:15 for the extra day. In my case the flight didn’t cancel, just delayed enough for us to time out. Reroute pay showed up on the time card then went back to 0 after the audit. I checked with Alpa and yes....weather.

Is reroute pay 2X (like a GS?) or just hourly rate? Thanks

That needs to change in the new contract. Losing a day off for 5:15 is not worth it...now 10:30, is a different story.

It is paid in addition to your pay for the trip. The hours you see under reroute pay on your time card will be added to any other pay you receive. (Single pay, no credit)

Can one of you guys post exactly what re-route pay is? Perhaps post the language and a general understanding of how much it pays etc?

The following is what constitutes a reroute, how reroute pay is calculated is pretty much greek to everyone I know....

"Reroute” means:

a.
alteration of a pilot’s rotation or portion thereof due to irregular operations to:

1) delete a previously scheduled flight segment(s), and/or
2) add a flight segment(s) that is not open time (including flying removed from open
time). or

b.
alteration of a pilot’s rotation or portion thereof to:
1) delete a previously scheduled flight segment(s), and/or
2) add a flight segment(s) under Section 23 N. 21. or O. 15.;
and

c.
notification to the pilot, after the airborne departure of his first flight segment, of such alteration.

Note: An alteration in the departure, enroute or arrival time of a scheduled flight segment does not constitute a reroute.

Its a nebulous system that may or may not pay you more for getting rerouted. Very few seem to understand it, and they frequently apply the "deny deny deny" strategy of Big Insurance even when it is applicable knowing that even if you finally prove you're owed it, all they have to do is pay what they were supposed to pay all along, and you just might end up forgetting or letting it go.

In any case, I"m assuming you're contemplating invoking the "me too" clause? ;)
