AE is out. ATL M88As pretty much went everywhere. Also a bunch of secondary displacements including both V & M displacements, which I really did not think would happen. A whole bunch of plug and plug + guys were bumped out - mandatory displacements all the way from 777A down to 350 Bs. Voluntary down to 320 B. Total bummer for the mandatory guys.

Kind of weird coming out around 10PM PDT.

Maybe they were waiting until after midnight in ATL for some reason. Would that buy them a little longer extension on somebody’s freeze? Or position the 365 day conversion window the way they want?

That put the official release time into May as well, but not a new bid period. I haven’t had any coffee yet so might be over thinking it.

Agreed that it’s strange. I’ve never seen one come out in the middle of the night before.

Maybe they just wanted to get it done and stayed late working on it.

Well that’s apparently exactly what happened. Not everything is a conspiracy and they dated the bid as posted 30 Apr so it had nothing to do with trying to delay it into another month.
I am sorry your life at Delta is so bad. The fifty plus greenslips you brag about in the last 3 years must be wearing you out.

Any insight you guys have for a new hire starting in May is greatly appreciated...any change to new hire bases equip?...and delay in training pipeline, etc.

Much appreciated!

Dtw717 is a good example of why we're going to be a shtshow in 2023 with nearly 1,000 retirements annually. Displace 3 on a 3rd level secondary (tertiary?), As opposed to absorbing it for a few months. I bet by the time those guys train, they're coming back. Seems quite inefficient.

It’s hard to directly answer the question. New hires for the most part go to ATL or NYC but slots pop up at every base accept maybe MSP. Pipeline times can vary depending on equipment. Most probably average under two weeks from completion of indoc to returning for sims. I think they plan 1 week minimum for the home study.
There should be another bid out in about 60 days give or take so you will have a opportunity to possible change bases if you can remain on the same equipment. I don’t believe there are any long delays in the pipeline. OE can sometimes be backed up but again that’s equipment specific.

Actually, it is very possible that someone from CR/alpa stayed up way late after their working hours to finish the awards. I have seen this before. That's the Delta difference and it does exist!

145 awards/120 displacements.
53 A to B, small AE, but largest number of loosing Capt seats for the past year.
9 bypasses
While it sucks to be displaced, but with the slow down in hiring it is the best time to re-train the guys.
The junior Capt is ATLM88 at 12521, June 2016 hire.

If any of you are on the Widget FB group you can see posts by Chris Miskell that stated that the AE was done but that lady who does it was at the DTW base visit, then headed to MSP (she likely finished it then sent it to ALPA for review as she headed to DTW). He said she would post it as soon as she could after getting to MSP. It looks as if that's actually what happened and I'm quite surprised she worked so late into the evening. Good on her...Lord knows many of us would have said screw it and waiting until the following day. The AE is dated 30Apr, so that throws out one of the conspiracy theories.
