Part of the need for this system was pilot induced. Many pilots just put in blanket GS for the month rather than defining specific parameters. This behavior drew out the time needed to cover a GS, because CS had to move through a greater number of pilots before getting one to accept a GS. We created the need for ARCOS with blanket GS because we could listen to the message, then decide.

On a positive note, this system provides for faster notification and trip coverage which benefits the airline as a whole (think Feb 14th). Additionally the earlier notification gives commuters or longer distance drivers a shot at GS. Under the current system, junior pilots who live close to the airport have an advantage over senior pilots who commute. This system is better at honoring seniority.

There’s a setup guide on deltanet too. It gives the initial login info and pin setup info.

Thanks a bunch!

Pilot induced? Almost 40 years of awarding the coveted GS has worked just fine. Maybe they're gearing up to cover their butts.

Yes. Check your notification settings, every smart phone should have an option to silence each particular app. Or you could just put your phone in do not disturb at night.

Do they call you from the standard scheduling number? If so, I have my phone set so CS defeats both my Do Not Disturb and silent settings.

I have the same. I assume they have a different number we will have to add.

Where is this pin setup at? I’m looking at the guide and all it says is to call the number to set the pin. I do that and it the. Asks for my pin?

Read the weekly flight ops update, it tells you exactly how to do it.

It might not mean anything, but when you watch the video on how to answer your phone, the video shows a phone ringing and the caller id has a 1-844-xxx-xxxx number. thats not CS. That’s Arcos.
Plus the voicemail is a robocall voicemail, not a human being.

If I ignore everything about Arcos and just submit the old fashioned way can I still get a green slip or is this eventually replacing icrew for slips?

You’ll still submit your preferences in iCrew. ARCOS will be the only method of awarding/receiving a GS on every fleet as of 5/29. If you ignore everything about ARCOS you will have received your last GS.

It’s been in every Flight Ops Weekly Update since April 11th, and DALPA sent out emails on April 13th & May 4th, so don’t say they didn’t warn you.
