June Bid Packages
The NYC 320B bid package took a flaming garbage truck dive off a cliff for June, at least as far as commutability is concerned.
Holy buckets! Was there a downturn in the others? Why so bad, especially in a category so well staffed? |
I noticed a good amount of packing the block time in to hit credit in Atlanta fwiw.
They also do love the early show on day 1 straight to an overnight or the 2335 end time. It is noticeably different from May. I dunno. Blame summer. I hope. |
I was surfing and looked at the 350 bid package. Couldn't sort it since I was just looking at the .pdf, but it looked like a significant number of the trips originated in ATL (front end DH). Did the company leave the 350 in DTW to alleviate 747 displacements or is DTW the right place for the 350 and the DH are the price of doing business? I suppose the same question could be asked about the SEA 330 as they only have 1 departure/day yet an entire base to support it. The most recent email from the company said 10,000 hours per SEA 330 departure. They did mention they had plans to step up SEA 330 departures which made sense in keeping the category open.

Undoubtedly NYC320 is atrocious. Normally on my first award line for commutable trips, there are anywhere from 110-150 rotations that match the time criteria. In this bid package there were 18 rotations that match

And lots of red eyes for the trips that are front end commutable. |

Were you looking at June? I didn't see many ATL originations in that package...just beginning-of-the-month left-overs from May. Those ATL DHs look like they are now incorporated in a 9 day ICN rotation with a 75 hour mid-rotation ATL layover. Effectively 2 trips and per diem at home if you live in the ATL area. 😁

I believe ICN is the only 350 ATL flight. All the rest are out of DTW. Future plans have only one other ATL flight at the moment.
