516 SILs Offered

Anyone have theories on the number of SILs offered today?

I admit being totally surprised by the high number offered during core summer months, particularly with the company talking about all-hands on deck with the training slowdown this summer.

EDIT: 561. My bad.

C2019 is just around the corner and this way the company can tease (and subsequently p/o) 561 pilots by posting, but not awarding, those summer SILs. Right Denny? 😁

It's interesting that the only SILs available for narrow body B positions are on the 320, and there are 129 of them. Add to that the fact that according to the class drops page there haven't been any 320 positions going to new hires in recent months. Did the delivery schedule change or did CR just do their math wrong for this summer's staffing?

Ive heard that some of the 321 deliveries have been delayed. Not sure how much that has played into any of this.

With that many in the summer I wonder if we’ll start hiring into a pool?

I guess I should read up on what an SIL is.

I was wondering the same thing, but found the answer.
SIL is special incentive line. 25 hour line for July and August in overstaffed categories.

25 hours of pay, but no flying and no obligations, right?
