I have a 5am Sim, what’s the easiest way to get to the training center? Does the shuttle bring you, or will I have to walk? Thanks!

I actually liked the Holiday Inn better. I was at the Renaissance for my last CQ and did NOT have an airport room. It was still very loud with a wedding/reception on the Lobby floor. Music playing until 11pm and drunk guests everywhere. I would request the highest floor on the non-airport side if I'm ever there again.

Also, both mornings the airport shuttle "forgot" to drop me off at the training center. Everyone else was going to the airport. To the drivers credit they both turned around but not until I stood up to ask if we were going to the training center. I walked back to the hotel after sims. No sidewalks if you can't go through parking lot.

Finally, I ordered a pizza at the hotel because there is nothing reasonably close for food (especially at dark).

To me the only benefit is nicer rooms.

I would agree with the above.

Gate is open. Walking is easy.

Ehhhh....The west gate closest to the hotel doesn't open until 0530. The main gate and the east gate (you do NOT wan't to hike to the east gate from the Renaissance) are 24/7. If you can get dropped off at the main gate, you're golden.

The gate was open at 0430 every morning for me while I was there. I also walked to the main gate with no issues. Its really not bad in that area at all and is well traveled by cars. Hardly a back alley where you would get mugged.

For sure, the main gate is not a long walk at all and fundamentally safe. To be sure, I'm taking about the east gate from the Ren (think museum side where we 757, Whale and DC-9 are) in the context of it being a hike versus a safety concern. The MAIN gate may be open at 0430 but unless something has changed in the last....24 hours, the west gate near the hotel is an 0530 deal.

Not trying to be argumentative, just don't want the guy to plan for a 10 minute walk and get jammed up.

Yesterday I asked the girl at the gate and she said it is open 5a-7p. Seems like the time may vary depending on who is working that morning.
