I am wondering why the Captain and flight attendants did not stop the boarding and get the aircraft properly cleaned and disinfected.

I agree. That's a serious health risk to all aboard.

Let’s not blame this on a Golden Retriever puppy, I vote for the it was an older gentleman who pooped the liquid goo...lol. but seriously, that is gross. Plus, it wasn’t handled well, Delta really pooped this one...

At least the puppy traveled for free. Gotta have comfort pets to handle life.

I'm wondering why the captain or flight attendant should have anything to do with this. The gate agent and cleaners are responsible for ensuring the aircraft is ready to board, no? NMJ

I had a similar experience once. Somebody barfed... and I mean BARFED.... in the first row of first class. Gate agents wanted to put blankets over the mess and press on.

I stopped the show.

This kind of thing is beyond idiotic.

As to the NMJ comment, you couldn't be more wrong. You are the last line of defense. Yeah the cleaners and gate agents are responsible to ensure the airplane is ready to go, but they also have gun in their ear to PUSH ON TIME. To them, that is all that matters.

Oh, and one other thing: I never heard word one about the delay.

From a different angle: If the boarding door was still open, no one “forced” this passenger to do anything.
