Thanks for the responses so far. I guess since they can't call me until 0100 from the end of the 30 hours rest, is it always a 10 hour call out or is that just for the first day? I guess I always thought long call was a 12 hour call out. Again, thanks for the quick replies all.

Speaking of green slips.....
After two XX days, I was on long call 0000-0200 this morning, then rest assigned 0200-1400, followed by short call 1400-2300. At approx 0400, during that rest block, GS#2 was assigned to another pilot. I have not flown a GS in this bid period. No call and no ARCOS notification. I checked my bids and I did have in a GS request. I called scheduling to ask. First guy I get is confused and has to put me on hold, while he phones a friend. In the end, Scheduling tells me I was “on duty” from 0000-0200, so I was not legal for the assignment reporting at 0700 due to the 10-hour look back. I don’t think this is correct. In the past, I have been awarded GS while on long call and never had the look back issue. Waiting to hear back from ALPA, but wondering if anyone else has any thoughts. Less than 10, you don't have the rest required. More than 12 hours, it would get handed out as a Long Call assignment (unless you're going into days off for part of the trip, then it could be a GS) |
