It relieved some of the pressure just like JFK and Reagan's tax cuts did. Taxes are flowing into the gov coffers like crazy its spending that's the problem.
Businesses don't pay taxes, consumers do. But when they pass those taxes on to the consumer who pays them, that "progressively" causes less spending somewhere else, often within the same business but not always.
They should be giving it back. At least a trillion a year. But you know they never will because no matter how much they take in it will never be enough.
He did go along with excessive spending. He had to though because there was a 1-2 vote margin and he wanted an additional 70B (I think) for the mil and the entire thing was limited to the reconcillation process.
You mean Newt's budget, since "the era of big government is over" right? They were actually able to stop the bleeding for a bit, although a full year (almost a full 2) of that was paper tricks of moving things to other fiscal years and some soc sec slights of hand, but I don't mind giving him his share of credit for that after he "moved to the center". The main point is there will be no significant spending cuts ever again until the foundation is shaken to its core which is a matter of time.
But let's laud Bill even more. Genius, peacemaker, wisest economist in the history of the world. Give him a peace prize (people have won them for WAY less lol) so why can't we go back to his budgets, including spending? Why do we need to spend trillion(s) more than he did? The vast majority of that increase isn't the military either.
Actually Elon has a fantasy that Mars will be this direct democracy fantasy. Thankfully we don't live in one now and we never will. Our country is based on inalienable individual rights and the entitlement to a republican form of government. We are not a democracy and the collective just can't keep voting to appropriate wealth labor and property for their socialist fantasies.
Oh so they do pay taxes? But you just said...
Not sure what overflowing means? Are they giving it back now? USA Profit Sharing Day!
Exactly, and Trump's budget made it even worse! Great job at conserving...
"Clinton's final four budgets were balanced...

Well you better blast off to Mars because there isn't a place in the world where your fantasy exists. Sorry bub, you're going to pay taxes and the collective will benefit. It's how society works.

Not in the UAE right? Tax free salaries. And no concept of declaring bankruptcy. You go in debts and can't pay, they throw your a$$ in jail.

2011 EK emailed me to come to the 1-day assessment in ATL using Delta's sim and doing the computerized testing; they sent a form to fill out. They then took that offer back when they saw my jet time was all less than 30 tons (CRJ-200 didn't qualify but the CRJ-7/9 did). I got hired at a LCC here and now a merger to a legacy so I'm staying put. It made sense to do the EK thing back in 2002-2011, today not so much.
Anyway, what's wrong with Dubai saying pay yo bills? Junkyard Willie says the same thing:

Nothing as long as its done fairly on the front end. Some places are infamous for their neo-indentured servants having no possible way out from the beginning, etc. We even see this at the government level when certain country [no sic] "loan" poor countries money they know they'll never have the ability to pay back, then graciously offer debt forgivness in exchange for ports, bases and resource rights, etc.
OTOH, if someone is dumb enough to sign up for 6 figures of debt for fake degrees in nothing then that's on them.

I pay my own way and I pay (probably) more than my 'fair' share. However, I don't mind giving a leg up. I DO mind paying health care for people that do nothing but sit on ass and smoke a carton of Marlboros everyday while watching their 55 inch Hi Def. I DO mind supporting octomom and 8 kids when she has no marketable skills other than getting pregnant.
