Then again.....they may just fly the time out of ATL. |

Agreed, the HI carrot probably wasn't the big draw. The financial upside that can be captured in a new category was a bigger attraction. Also being part of a growing fleet has some appeal. I still think the potential for redeye flying, like the 73N and 7ER categories was overlooked by quite a few bidders.

Seems redeyes are a unavoidable reality in this job. Domestic. HI. International and ULH all have them. IDK but maybe the 717 and 220 are exceptions.
Trick is to find what works for your body and circumstances. Does the west coast redeye land at 0230 or 0730 body time? ATL 3 day European trips were personally untenable, yet a 3.5 day ATL-HNL with long all nighter back were a walk in the park. Everybody is different. And what works for you when you are 35......may not work at 65. I noticed our departing head of Training has chosen to return to line flying on the ATL 320, and not ULH WB. It would seem he has figured out what works in his case. |
