Delta buys 20% of Latam

It is my understanding that the seat initially assigned to a DH is selected when the rotation containing the deadhead is initially created (at least a month in advance if it is a bid package rotation, but obviously less if it is a manually created rotation later on). We are just adding our name to that record locator, but the seat was already assigned well before that.
I agree completely that having to jump through all the hoops to add our names to the reservations and try to get a better seat and check in are a complete pain in the rump and absolutely need to change with our next PWA. Over the course of a year, I know I waste a lot of my time dealing with my DH reservations.

As a domestic guy, this policy only frustrates me during IROPs when I am time limited and rushing to get to said deadhead. It’s hard to type and walk. Usually, I can take care of it stress free. But it does seem like needless key strokes. I just feel we have bigger fish to fry, this should be a free fix on the company’s part. I have no idea why we would waste negotiating capital on this (in all fairness you may not have been meaning this).

So what you're saying is 20% of the time it works 100% of the time when we really need it?
