Not sure we will pay anything this year. Still needs government approval from Chile? I think. As such, no hit on PS.

Also, it’s a debt-financed transaction, according to the initial press releases, so the effect should be fairly minimal

Profit from the LATAM deal shouldn’t be much of an impact. Initially there will be conversion costs but EB has forecasted a $1B increase in revenue over the next 5 years. This will come with relatively low cost because of the ability of the eventual JV to better connect and fill each other’s seats, along with price and capacity control. Long term it will be a net profit generator but initial costs and approval of the deal will have some impact. Essentially what is good for our owners is good for our profit sharing but I wouldn’t count on any significant increase in delta metal operations. The reason we are buying them is to instantly have access to market share instead of growing into it.

That's what I think, as well. I would hate to get a double punch in the nuts by it reducing profit sharing, as well as not adding routes to our metal.

This is probably for NotEnuf, but anyone else with knowledge should chime in: How does LATAM deal affect our bottom line WRT PS?

Hopefully sailing sees this and can ask Ed when they have their coffee this morning.

Actually I have had the opportunity to have a personal chat with the CEO at Delta. My chat came after I sent him a signed personal letter expressing my feelings concerning his planned furlough of pilots. I wonder how many Delta haters posting on here would send their posts in a signed letter to the CEO?
P.S. I got to have a sidebar with the VP of flight ops so it was two chats for the price of one letter!

Or put their real name on their posts here.

I’m sure the irony sailed (pun intended) right over your head.

I’m not a Delta hater. I am a pilot here and I enjoy working here. I am not a mouthpiece for the fourth floor though. After reading your post did you also request a party suite in HNL on Christmas circa 2-3 years ago?

Nope, I did request management reconsider their request to furlough pilots and told them that I would push DALPA to take the next scheduled pay raise and use the money to provide each furloughed pilot 3000 a month. The second part is what seemed to bother them. Sadly it seemed to bother pilots still working even more.
