Optimizer
 
As far as the 320 goes in DTW, I really haven't seen rotations quite this awful to date (only 5 years here, so far). They are truly awful, packed with 3 long legs a day, short layovers and they're uncommutable. I know there was mention of the RCC possibly having a final word (or at least A word) in the rotation construction, but do we know the details of what they're aiming for. This Optimizer (sodomizer) is really doing a number on rotations up in DTW. (I did fill out the RCC survey).

RCC has a word in the rotations as much as you have a word in who is the PM of Canada.

Perhaps you should have a listen to the podcast on the optimizer. It will explain away all your fears and help you understand that, in reality, the trips you speak of are totally awesome and not terrible. All is well.

I don’t think so - but I did notice they’re in the content locker on the company iPads.

The RCC had a say when we were overstaffed and credit wasn't am issue. Now that we are understaffed and have an optimizer, I don't expect the RCC to ever have a say again.

Same in NYC. I think 5 trips report after 1000 and release before 1900. I know I know, commuting is an option. But damn it’s bad.

That's happening to a large degree all around the system. Domestic pairings have been absolutely trashed and sacrificed at the altar of the optimizer. Its beyond profit and efficiency. At this point its just sport.

I would also like to point out that the company definition of commutable trips is not quite the same as ours.

The podcasts are pure propoganda and expectation management. And I listened expecting nothing of the sort. I was turned off by them.
