For those of you who were around in 2003, how did SARS affect the operation?

We have given away all our Pacific flying, so it shouldn't impact us at all. :D

didn't Northwest downgraded most of the beyond Tokyo routes from 744 to 757 because the loads were so bad?
So bottom-line, post 9/11 capacity adjustments probably served NW well through SARSs. |
I see United has suspended flights to China, citing "lack of demand".
"Other" airlines are offering free masks upon request and an assurance that planes are, like, totally swabbed downed with a virus killing antiseptic before every flight. I must assume that means every inch of every armrest, every seat belt, every tray table, and every lav with strength 100% alcohol. Yes? |

Yes? 2) From DeltaNet: "Delta sources its own high-grade disinfectant, which is rated to combat many communicable diseases." 2a) "combat" = fuzzy legal term that doesn't really mean anything 2b) "many communicable diseases" = but not necessarily the one you are worried about |

I see articles about alcohol based hand sanitizer and the fact that it evaporates quickly so it may not be effective. I could not find anything about alcohol not actually killing it if it comes in contact?

I read it somewhere that only bleach and hydrogen peroxide are effective.
I mix mine with tonic and a lime. Takes the edge off. |
