That wouldn’t happen to a Douglas product. Probably because Douglas couldn’t figure out how to keep liquids on the outside of the jet.

Pilots will no longer be allowed to drink in the cockpit. And so we're fair, flight attendants also will be prohibited from hydrating whenever engines are running.

Airbus doesn't like it when you make a mess.

Considering that
  • Red eyes and night flying are common and
  • caffeine consumption is specifically offered as a fatigue management strategy by many airlines
I’m a little surprised all airline manufacturers don’t make the center console a little more spill proof.

It seems like dumb luck that it only affected one engine. Both engine controls in the same panel, right? It would follow that it could have happened to both at the same time. Yikes!

Not a place to be talking about this. Plus you guys don’t have the full factual story.

How about don’t pass drinks over the center console. Not that difficult to have drinks passed to the left of the CA and right of the FO.
If you passed a drink over the center console and spilled it, that was a fireable offense at my old ACMI.
