Recency Strategies

With things slowing down so much I would imagine we're about to have a lot of people in need of bounces for recency, including the narrowbody fleets. I'm currently approaching this situation. I have less than 500 hours in type so I'm ineligible for an extension, and I'm sure there are MANY others in this boat since we've had a lot of training going on right before everything came to a halt.

As a former Mad Dog driver that re-upped recency every day I went to work, what are some strategies, if any, for giving days of availability to the company? Just wondering if any of the widebody folks have any tips.

Also, should we expect to see the company just start letting people's recency lapse and just stay home?

I have a 7 day dead window between when I drop currency (June 5) and CQ (June 12). I'm hoping they just leave me the hell alone and don't make me come in for a currency sim, only to come back two days later for CQ,

My recency has been expired for a month now. Called the ER planner this week and he said there's about 200 people in line for a sim to either re-establish or maintain recency. My early month for CQ is July - he said it's very possible I might just re-establish when I go to CQ.

Is it just bounces or is it a full period with MV stuff?

I think it’s a MV and a LOE. To lazy to look it up. You can look under your DIG on your fleet page on Deltanet.

Just bounces. It's cake. For re-establish one of the takeoffs has to be a V1 cut and one of the landings has to be a CAT 1 down to mins.

This makes me think they will close some ER bases on the bid next week.

yoooooo, hey man, are you saying for bounces? I emailed the guy (his initials are PD to make sure we are talking about the same guy) and heard crickets. My question is, are you trying to get bounces in the ER and they said there are 200 people in front of you? If so when did your currency expire? Thanks

My landing recentcy expires for my current category 2 June. The training for my new category is on hold with a 2 June conversion date. So I’m screwed all around. I won’t be current in either category. Just waiting on being displaced.

Mine expired early Apr and I don't have 500hrs in type. Yeah same guy, and yes he was talking about bounces. He never responded to my email either. I just called everyday until one day he picked up.

Not 200 people in front of me just around 200 total. He didn't check to see where I was in the line.
